How to Live Well after 70.
1. It is your duty to look great! Make an effort. Every time you look at yourself in the mirror, it’ll make you feel better.
2. Find meaningful work. Four to six hours a week is probably good. Volunteer, or paid. Doesn’t matter.
3. Creativity: Learn something new. Depart from what you’re already good at or take it to a higher level.
4. Work on undeveloped parts of your personality. It’s HARD. But gratifying.
5. Exercise every day, or garden, or dance, or do Tai Chi.
6. Call a friend.
7. Visualize more pleasant things than unpleasant things.
8. Meditate, go to church, spend time in nature, cultivate the sacred.
9. Take a look at end of life issues. Make a will, pre-plan for your death, (who do you want to officiate at a memorial, cremate or not, etc.) Advance Directive, Power of Attorney. It’s not morbid, it’s taking care of business.
10. Cultivate self-compassion.
11. Make a “Bucket List.” (Things you want to do before you “kick the bucket.”)
